The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house having a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined home cash flow would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
